The day started early - with our kids waking up between 3:30am and 4:00am. We made them stay in bed until 5:00. Then had to keep them calm until "quiet hours" ended at 8am!
We headed to the beach (got in the car... although our view of the ocean is beautiful from the condo we are staying at, the "playing/swimming" beaches are about a 15 minute drive away) and headed to a beach the girls could swim and play around in.
Trying out boogie boarding!
We encountered some interesting "locals"... one duo included an older man who asked me if he could give Hannah some "candy" (judging from how he was acting, and the "candy" he was holding... what he was offering was funny brownies). His friend, sporting quite the bathing suit here, was in his own little world - dancing and playing some wooden string instrument along the beach. Kevin and Tim have a goal of finding a similar instrument to buy and strum along the beach themselves. Here is the local in a dance trance.
We stayed at the beach all morning and headed back to the condo for lunch. A little rest time and then to the pool at the condo.
One little medical trauma... there is a big grassy lawn between our condo and the ocean and the girls have been dying to run around in it. So after dinner we let the four of them run around and play. They played hide and seek around the palm trees and chased each other around, "capturing" each other, etc. Part of this play included rolling around in the grass. After they came back up to the rooms, they started complaining of a little itching. The next thing we know, all four of them have a rash on their arms and legs! Grace's was so bad we had to put her in the shower to try to get the grass, or chemicals (whatever was causing this) off of her. After each girl had a dose of antihistamine and we rubbed cortizone on them, they seemed to be better.
As you can imagine, we had very tired little girls - Grace fell asleep before dinner and we had to wake her up for Shaka pizza! That kept her awake for a while, but she fell asleep after dinner, watching TV.
