We are in Maui! Finally here after a thought I had two years ago... really wanting to spend my 40th birthday in Hawaii. I figured if turning 40 was going to upset me, at least if I could wake up in Maui, I wouldn't be too sad, right? It ends up 40 isn't nearly as depressing as I thought, so instead I'm just enjoying the vacation! We're here with our friends, the Harps. The kids are so happy to have their buddies here. They even sat together for part of the 5-1/2 hour direct flight from Portland to Maui.

The "little girls" enjoyed everything about the flight - mine even said the lunch was so good on the plane that she questioned if she was in First Class! She said she felt like a princess...
We made it to the airport, picked up our rental cars, bought some groceries at Costco (too many people there and birds flying through the aisles - some of my worst nightmares!) Then unpacking and finally relaxation with dinner and mai tais. Kids can't believe we're finally here!
